[A building or a town will only be alive to the extent that is governed by the timeless way.]

It is a process which brings order out of nothing but ourselves; it can not be attained, but it will happen off its own accord, if we will only let it.

- Christopher Alexander, The Timeless Way of Building

What if architecture didn’t have architects or builders? What happens when we become the architects and builders of our own surroundings and allowed things to expand and contract naturally? Architecture today has become a process with set of drawings that starts and finishes within a few months or a couple of years. What could make a timeless building is if it were to remain constantly incomplete.

Improv Studio was created over the three year course of my MFA career. The structure exists and takes advantage of the existing conditions and grows over time according to needs. Going against the traditional architectural procedure, the structure was never planned or drawn out, but instead took advantage of existing and found materials in order to grow organically.
